Entries for May, 2002

Haven't checked my mail in 3 days and already the inbox is bursting.

Another day, another update.

So we had MT2's pictorial last Thursday. We were just supposed to have a couple of group pics taken, but Myles made me bring my own camera (my dad's, actually) to snap a few shots of the class. We ended up buying 3 rolls of film and taking mug shots of each of the students. Anyway, at least they had fun. But what pissed me most of all was that Sophie and Rianne were late for class. We told all of them that the pictorial was at 4 o'clock, and so Raynold told us that they were getting their hair braided and will be a little late. A little late is an understatement. They arrived at 7pm, and the photographer had already left. They each blew P800 for nothing. Sheesh.

Oh yeah, I got to talk to kince13 last Thursday. It's been years since I last talked to that guy.

On Thursday night, I got a text message from the company phone that the Playshop ATC admin and faculty are supposed to wear white tops and denim bottoms for their pictorial. Arg, there's not even a swatch of denim in my closet. So I had to come to ATC at noon on Friday to go jeans shopping. Then I quickly went to the bathroom as soon as I had found a nice pair. Man, I'm not used to walking around in jeans.

As for MT1's pictorial, it was fun. We all wore beach attire, mostly shorts and tank tops, while the guys all wore Hawaiian shirts. Heheheheh, Lawyn even brought a stuffed lobster, which we rested on Alex's thigh.

Oh yeah, Tita Menchu filled in for Tito Audie's absence last Friday. She did this recreate-the-painting exercise that she did for our class in Playshop '99. I haven't had my turn yet, so I'm waiting for it today. Hopefully I get a good scene partner. Or maybe that painting of that girl with the book that Kris did 3 years ago.

I tried going veggie yesterday. My mom made this green salad the day before, and I loved it so much that we made it again yesterday. Man, I can't wait to get home and get my hands on more. (I can now see my boyfriend's eyes smiling with a little suspicion.) ^_^ MMMmmm, my mom's homemade salad dressing is the best.

Gotta finish checking my mail.

Does it show that I can't think of a decent title? Oh well.

I hung out with Zyra, Mikki, Anna, Eric, Alex, and Ria last Monday before Playshop class. We accompanied Ria while she went window shopping for baby stuff. (Ria's 3 months pregnant, by the way.) Heeheehee, Alex and I were so much in awe how small and cute those baby clothes were. And when we looked at the other stuff, I never knew that having a baby could be so expensive. Thank goodness I won't be getting married and having a family anytime soon. ^_^

Yesterday, Myles, Rony, and I held casting auditions for MT2's Godspell showcase. We moved the mirrors so we can block the audition area from the rest of the room's cemented area. So while the kids auditioned one by one, we had the rest think of some poster ideas for the showcase.

Arg, those kids were so out of control yesterday. They couldn't keep their noise level down. Thanks to Tita Luna and the rest of the admin, we got them to shut up (well, some of the time, anyway) while Myles, Rony and I were conducting the auditions.

I'm so proud of Nicole. We finally managed to get her to sing. I think I actually heard Miss Chari's voice when Rony told her to stop it. Heheheheh.

As for Sophie, *sigh* I still don't know what to do with her. When we saw that her group (she was assigned to a group, but then she still got together with Rianne and Trinie) left the mess that they made, we asked her group to fix it, so we can all finally leave. Jeez, she didn't even bother standing up to clean the mess. She left everything to Rianne and Trinie. I guess some girls are just plain ugly on the inside. Yikes, I can't believe I said that. And now my mean self and my goody-goody self are wrestling inside me. One side wants to cut her some slack, and the other thinks that she's too much much and she's turning into such a bitch-in-the-making.

Arg.

Anyway.

Tito Audie's coming back today. I wonder what we're gonna do in class this time.

My dad and I went grocery shopping a while ago, then he dropped me off here in Netopia. I'm getting hungry. I wish I brought the bag of Lays with me.

So we finally found the perfect people in MT2 to play Jesus and Judas. They're Mara and JC, respectively. We were assigning solos to the kids last Thursday, and I nearly fell off my chair when 2 amazing things happened. Nicole actually volunteered to sing a solo, and Fiona was finally on-key. So we awarded them solos in "Day by Day".

We started planning for our showcase yesterday. We had this huge list of songs on the whiteboard yesterday and we're in the process of eliminating most of them right now. Plus, on Monday, we have to perform all the skits, monologues, and skits that we dug up about friendship. I was supposed to do the monologue that Mara did on her first auditions (which was about this girl who was avoiding being friends with someone less popular), but I couldn't find her number. Since our showcase will be about the different kinds of friendship in different levels, I finally decided to do this monologue about a girl's friendship with a doll, only it's from the doll's point of view. Cool, huh? It's a monologue I dug up ages ago when I wanted to print up some schtuff to keep me from getting bored at the Plaza Villarosa during my first term in CSB.

Oh yeah, I forgot something else. I got my second paycheck last Thursday. New phone, here I come!

I just found out that Lea's Broadway concert repeat will be on June 19. I'd better ask about tickets on Monday, then cash my check so I can watch. ^_^

Damn, because I did the groceries, I completely missed My Girl on E Movies this afternoon. Oh well. At least Charlie's Angels will be on tonight.

I've been thinking of buying those cute Eeyore toe socks today. I first saw it in Reggie's blog last week, where she showed a cam pic of her sock-clad feet. I went to the stall earlier and asked about the price, and I'm still thinking if I'm gonna buy it today.

I went to school today to get my EAF (enrollment assessment form). When I got there, Sir Chuck told me to wait an hour before I get it printed because the school server was still down. While I was waiting, I got to hang out with Kitin for a while in McDo. Then I finally got it printed. Then I got to see my YFC friends in the cubicle for a while, such as Marie Vee, Kyten, Let, Macy, and Kel. Boy, I haven't seen them in a while. It feels weird. Oh yeah, and I just found out where our next cubicle will be. (The org cubicles shuffle every year, and we change them by having an org rep drawing a certain cubicle.) Goody, our cubicle is easier to reach this school year, coz it's pretty close to both doors.

Nyak, Myles just snuck up behind me while I was typing the last few sentences of that last paragraph. He told me that he'll be helping out with the Children's Theater kids today. Heheheheh, he's so eager to be daddy that he'll do anything to play with kids.

I'll think I'll go back and buy those socks right now. Macy's curious about it and wants to see it tomorrow.

My diskette is stuck inside the drive. I should've told them I was gonna use a diskette. Now I have no idea how to get my diskette. Arg.

So what else is new?

So Ria's not coming back for Playshop. She bled last Saturday and was rushed to the hospital, and she'll be bed-ridden for quite some time. That means no stressful activities for her. But thank goodness both she and the baby are fine. *relief* So Tita Menchu will be helping us out for our showcase. Goody.

I want my diskette...

For some reason, I had a craving for apple pie tonight. Maybe I think it's because I saw one of the kids eating it earlier. I think I'll buy one from McDo later before I go home.

Heheheheheh, remember my diskette yesterday? I told one of the girls from Macroscope about it, and to my relief, the drive always gets stuck, so it's not my fault. Goody.

We started Playshop yesterday with "The Telephone Hour" from Bye Bye Birdie. Tito Audie first took out the people over 20 (me included, though I'm only 20) because we're too old for the song. Eheheheh, a lotta people were surprised to find out how old I was. Then when we older people got bored, Tito Audie finally told us that the girls who were interested in auditioning "I Will Never Leave You" from Side Show should learn the song since we're not doing anything. As it turns out, all the girls with me wanted to try out for it. Since I don't want to be left all alone in the back wall, I decided to learn the song as well and join them. Then we had to audition individually when everyone else was dismissed. Nyak, a lot of people hung around for our audition. Eep. Tita Menchu let us go over the song together once, but I still couldn't get the hang of the first part of the song. I ended up bugging Shan coz she got to learn the song with most of the rest last Tuesday. Arg, my voice was OK in the chorus, but I kept getting lost in some of the softer parts. But thank goodness I tried out for Daisy instead of Violet, coz Violet has to belt the last part. I didn't get either one. Mish will be Violet while Shan got Daisy (All right, Shan!). But I wanna try out for everything. Oh well. There's always tomorrow and on Saturday.

I went to Yamaha today to ask about voice lessons. I've been dying to take voice lessons for years, but after taking drumming lessons and couldn't cut it, I've been afraid to juggle lotsa things at once. I went there today anyway. I told my mom about it anyway, so I hope they'll let me go. The lady who was at the receptionist's table was pretty nice. She told me that I can use any songs I want to use, most especially Broadway, since I told her that I have a background in musical theater.

I wonder when my 'rents will give the go signal. Or rather, if they give the go signal.

Oh yeah, and I still have to go to school tomorrow to pay my tuition fee. I wonder what I'll do to kill time afterwards.

Yeah, my bro is online and I'm just updating him on what's up on my side of the world.

I finally snagged a scene in our Playshop showcase. It's gonna be with Lawyn, Moira, Kathy, and Leah. Tita Luna helped us work on the scene last Saturday, and she gave us a revised copy yesterday. Then when Tito Audie listened to us last night, he switched things around and gave the me weirdo role of the yes-man instead of the role I enjoyed creating. Bleargh. I mean, I respect Tito Audie's decisions, but sometimes he goes too far. He always prioritizes the more experienced ones. I know he has a reputation, but why won't he give the rest a chance? There are still lots of us in the class to choose from. And just because Leah couldn't vary her one-line dialogue doesn't mean that she'll stick to it and just let me do it instead.

I'm bitter. Heheheheh. Karl's getting contagious. He didn't get the "Alone In The Universe" song and got stuck with "Telephone Hour" singing Harvey Johnson's part.

I got to watch Star Wars: Episode 2 yesterday with Ari. I din't really like it that much. I expected too much from it. I only liked the part where Yoda got to fight. Cute.

And I just realized yesterday that Mish is a friend of Oz. Small world.

I'm kinda annoyed with Marie and a bunch of other girls from YFC-CSB right now. A bunch of them dubbed formed a little group called "The Bitches" and they're inviting me to join. I felt out of place when they first formed the group without anyone else knowing and it ticked me off that they're boxing themselves in. YFC is all about the opposite, or are they too blind to see that. And they're inviting me to join their so-called happy little family? No thank you. They're acting like, well, bitches. I guess their little "club" is finally aptly named.

Arg, yesterday it was apower failure and today it's another rainy day. And the kids here in Macroscope are taking network games a little too far. I know kids have a right to spill out excess energy by screaming and shouting, but I never knew they could curse a lot by that age.

Nyak.

I wonder what we're gonna do in Playshop today. Choreo with MT2 yesterday was pretty interesting. Chevy tagged along with Ceej and he helped out by standing in for JC, who wasn't around. We did choreo for "All For The Best" (one of my fave songs in Godspell) and they came up with part of one of the dances in Save The Last Dance. That, of course, got the kids all excited.

Reading mail. Can't talk much right now.

which Episode II character are you?

Probably the greatest Jedi Knight of all. Like Obi Wan, you are wise and keep your feet on the ground at all times. You will not be outsmarted by anyone. You are always faithful to your friends. Be careful though, danger lurks around every corner - you could even be betrayed by those closest to you.

As usual. It's summer, duh.

Last Wednesday, Tito Audie finally blocked Pre-Prom Night (that's the title Tita Luna gave our scene). At first he took us outside the Playshop place, where everything was noisy because most of the class was outside as well. Then we moved inside near the entrance, where we did the whole scene at least 3 times. Oh well.

So today, to prevent the noise and the chaos, Tito Audie scheduled each scene to come at different times this evening. Our scene is scheduled at 5:30, and "Self-Portrait" (the opening song) is scheduled at around past 7:00. Nyak.

Ceej finished the choreo of "All For The Best" yesterday, and then we reviewed the choreography of the other songs. After the break, Myles let me block the scene of the parable of the sower, while he handled the rest of the scenes. I took my bunch (Krishna, Hannah, Annie, Pilar, Zeph, Anika, Abet, Alex, Sari, and Marah) to the cemented area, while Myles took the wooden floor. Arg, the kids annoyed the hell outta me. If it weren't for Sari and Marah, I wouldn't had the scene done in time.

Eheheheh, Anna just slipped inside Macroscope and looked over my shoulder while I was in the middle of typing that last paragraph. She just left to go around the mall.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this. My aunt and cousin Beverly just arrived yesterday from Palawan. I haven't seen Bev in a long time, but she hasn't changed a bit.
