I just arrived from Shang.

So we had the cast party tonight. It was supposed to start at around 5 in the afternoon at Stageworx, but there was hardly anyone there. Then when people started coming, we couldn't eat yet because we had to wait for Tito Audie and Tito Jaime.

While Jamie and I were hanging around outside Stageworx, we were sending Karl text messages, asking him to drop by Shangri-La, since his school is so near. He was asking us to go to his school, but since we were at a party and he was outnumbered, he was "forced" to come at the mere mention of the fact that Tita Menchu was also at the party, heeheehee.

One of the familiar faces I didn't expect to see was Sir Niel de Mesa. He was my teacher in PHILIEN (supposed to be Philippine Literature in English as a general subject, but it was actually a major subject, Script Analysis, for us Technical Theater and Production Design students) last year. I was one of the few in his class who impressed him in our finals, when we were asked to do a macquette (scale model) of one of the plays that we had discussed in class. He was also the one who gave us our first OJT, until it got cancelled due to lack of funds. Oh well. When he saw me last night, he actually greeted me with a hug. Too bad he didn't stick around for the party.

We started the party with a praise fest. Karl arrived sometime in the middle of it. Heheheheh, he was feeling so out of place, so Jamie and I kept him company by the door. We also ate with him outside the venue as well.

The best part was when Tita Sweet started giving out these funny awards, complete with reenactments. So hilarious. We were all laughing like crazy that whole time.

Karl had to leave to go back to school (he had rehearsal for his play, The Bald Soprano) during the awards, but soon returned because his director had cancelled the rehearsal because he didn't feel like it. Jeez, how unprofessional.

After all the awards were given out, the microphone was given to Tito Audie and Tito Jaime for some final words, and then they played the backstage video from last Sunday. I asked Karl if I could hitch a ride home with him, so we left after that. I wasn't really gonna miss that much because a bunch of them are going to Tali Beach tonight. The rest will catch up with them tomorrow (later?).

One funny part was when I was saying goodbye to Franco outside Stageworx. Karl was standing behind me while I exchanged phone numbers with Franco. So Franco asked him, "So, are you the boyfriend?" Eep, my mistake. Karl was with Jamie and me the whole time he was there that Franco thought that he was my boyfriend. Uhm, no, thank you. Suddenly I felt awkward walking alone together with Karl. What if that's what the other people are thinking? Oh well, it isn't true anyway, so I don't have to worry.

I'd better get some sleep. I think I'm having a cold again and I still have CADRAFT class tomorrow. Arg.
Currently feeling: calm
