sisters
Arg, kaasar si Ariel. Since we didn't get to meet up last Friday, nagalit daw sya sa akin so he ate my chocolate crinkles. Hmpf. Tampo na ako.
While sitting in church this morning, I observed the 2 sisters who always sit near us. They're the daughters of one of lectors (is that what they're called? I forgot), so their mom knows my dad, who also works in church as a minister. Anyway, there I was, sitting in church, looking at them, envious of how close they are.
All my years, I've always wanted a sister. I'm only close to one of my girl cousins, who's a few months older than me, so she's the closest thing I ever had to a sister. Heck, I'm not even close to my brother, and the 4-year age difference makes a bigger gap.
But even though I never had a sister, I've been really grateful for having friends that feel like sisters to me. There's been Rosa and Iam, who have known me for more than half my life. I found adopted sisters in some of the Angels, like Jill, Lexi, Maika (hahaha, and my friends in school think we're cousins), Peachy, Anne (the ate I never had), Trish, Anne and everyone else. I realized I've been blessed with surrogate sisters.
I love times like these when I just sit down and reflect on life, and be thankful with what I have right now. There's already too many crazies in this world, so enough of that. It's time to be optimistic.
