golden afternoon
I've been spending my bum days at home sitting around in front of the TV set or in front of the PC. I decided to try something different today, so I took out Kuya's bike and rode around the village.
I've forgotten how fun it was to bike around. Back when my brother and I were little kids, we waited impatiently every afternoon for our mom to let us out so we can ride our bikes. And we'd stay out there till the sun had already set. But back then we were only allowed to bike within the limits of our street.
This afternoon, I tried going around the block a few times, like I had done yesterday, then I decided to go farther. Way farther. Hehehe, I managed to get to the very fringes of the village and back. It was pretty fun, but scary at the same time because I'm not used to riding a mountain bike and competing with all those cars, tricycles and even trucks.
While I was coasting along the main road, I happened to pass by the place where Jennylyn (yes, that girl who won in Starstruck along with Pio's cousin) took voice lessons. Hahaha, there was even this banner out front congratulating her. Coolness, when I stopped my bike in front of the place to check it out, Miss Susanna herself took some time to talk to me.
After that, I kept going until I reached the end of the village and took another route back home. Hahaha, thank goodness I still remember the route that the bus service I rode in high school used, because I wanted to avoid all the major roads as possible.
Oh man, I just remembered that I have to sleep early tonight. I'm going with Dad, Kuya, and Ate Maui to the GMA Fun Run tomorrow morning. Ate Maui will be running the 3K route while Kuya will be doing the 10K. Good luck, you two!
