I got an email this morning from Tanghalang Pilipino about this summer's CCP workshops. This is what caught my attention...

EVENTS, PRODUCTION AND STAGE MANAGEMENT

Tuesday to Friday
6 – 10 pm

Participants learn the rudiments of stage and production management from planning, staffing, taking down blocking notations, cueing and other required skills. Hands-on sessions allow the students to try out new skills in the professional backstage of the CCP venues and facilities. The course is designed for participants seeking entry level careers in stage, production and events management. Ed Murillo is the leading stage manager in the country. He has had extensive experience as a Stage Manager both here and abroad.

OOoooh, I've always wanted to attend one of Sir Edmu's workshops. And heck, this would really help a lot. But gah... my plans this summer are pretty fuzzy.

But of course, there are still the lecture series. These are the ones I want to attend...

Lecture on Acting in Musical Theater

9 am – 12 nn
Lecturer: TBA
Fee: P200.00
A lecture on the Acting in Musical Theater.

Lecture on Directing Musical Theater
April 17
12 nn – 3 pm
Lecturer: Bobby Garcia
Fee: P200.00
An overview on how to direct a musical theater production by Bobby Garcia, Artistic Director of Atlantis Productions and director of such well known hits "Dreamgirls", "Jesus Christ Superstar" and the "Rocky Horror Show."

Lecture on Producing and Marketing Musical Theater
April 24
9 am – 12 nn
Fee : P200.00
How to produce your own musical theater production - tips from Audie Gemora, artistic director of one the nation's most profitable theater companies.

I'm still not sure about the first lecture, but you'll bet I'll be there at the other two, hahahaha. Bobby, the diva director, giving a lecture on directing? Can't wait... Plus I want to try directing too. But, not soon, I hope, hahahaha... And of course, one of my dreams is to produce my own show, so I really want to attend Tito Audie's talk.
Currently feeling: determined

hi! i saw this ad din e. i'm so interested in the events, production and satage management but I'm still checking if it's worth it kasi medyo mahal. :)

True, the price is medyo mahal. Well, compared to other workshops, it's pretty OK na rin coz workshop prices keep rising and can get as high as P6000. I think it's worth it naman coz Sir Edmu's one of the best in the country. FYI: Sir Edmu was stage manager of Miss Saigon Manila. :)
