about friends
Two friends inspired this entry, Maika and Kat.
Friendship can get really crazy sometimes, specially during high school and when things start changing when we get to college.
Some friends tend to be closer to you than others, while the rest drift apart. It happens to each and every one of us.
While I was sitting with Kat, Mel and Reiner in the cubicle before lunch, Kat was explaining her situation to us. It seemed that she wasn't as close with her high school clique as before, just because she doesn't play soccer anymore. She concluded that her friends are still the same as they were in high school, but as for her, she continued to grow as she spread her wings.
Some friends begin to think and say that when you get distant, you've changed, you're different from the rest of them. That's partly true. But I guess it's all part of growing up. You continue to grow, you continue to change, be it for the better...or something else, it's your call, anyway.
I'm 22 years old (my golly, double digits, I feel old), and I have to admit, I'm still going through that. Friends drift apart, sometimes because we lose out of touch, or sometimes it's because of differences.
Like what I told Maika...
...If they're still your friends, they'll still be there no matter what, not because of how much time you spend with them.
Well, c'est la vie.
