Entries for June, 2004

Anthony sent me a text message last night, telling me that we have a racket, and we're meeting the director today. When I asked him for more info, he said it was for this short film.

So we met up after lunch at Shangri-La, then he said that we're meeting the guy at Wack Wack Towers. Thanks to Teena's directions, we managed to get there OK. When we got to the lobby to ask about the room we were supposed to go to, this woman came up to the front desk and mentioned the same room. It turned out to be Gina, who works with the director guy we're supposed to meet. She finally introduced us to the director, this American named David.

David first talked to Anthony about technical stuff concerning cameras and sound equipment, until we managed to borrow the library to meet. Gina had to go somewhere so she left the three of us there. Anthony then mentioned that I can act (yikes...), so David said he could let me read parts of his scripts later. Then more talk about technicals, like sounds and lighting, and I let Anthony do all the talking because he's more exposed to that. Then David turned to me and asked what I was exposed to, so I told him that I can do a lot more of the production work aside from acting. After that, we started coordinating schedules, telling him what days we'll be available. This guy named Ogie arrived then, and he discussed more about the cameras they'll be using.

Anyway, about the films, they actually have plans of showing it in the US as well as here in Manila. Huwaw, coolness.

After Ogie had left, David asked me to read scenes from the scripts. I was supposed to read with a few other actors coming in, but they couldn't make it. Anyway, he had three scripts with him, two short films, and one full-length feature film. One of the shorts was called Cheese Hamburger, a comedy about this guy looking for the "perfect cheeseburger". Didn't read that though.

Holy kamote, was even a camera set up to record me while I was reading the script. Ack...

I first got to read through the feature film, called The Wedding of the Century or The Filipino Wedding. The first part was so funny, with the bride and groom arguing inside the church they were checking out. I read the scene a few times with David, with me as the bride and him as the groom, but by the end of each take, I was laughing my ass off at the last few lines. It was really funny. I also had to read another scene as the maid-of-honor finishing the best man's speech because he was too drunk to go on. I think we're gonna have fun with that film, be it behind the camera or acting in front of it.

The other short film, The Purple Heart, is sort of like a drama with a few twists and turns in the end. We read through it as well, but it was kinda cheesy, which was what he was sort of what he was going for, with a 1940s flavor to it. It was OK, I guess.

After the readings, David said we were done, so Anthony and I thanked him and left.

This is gonna be a cool project. I can't wait to start.

I woke up early for school this morning because we had a report for Sir Jay's class, but after 45 minutes of waiting, Sir Jay texted me, saying that he won't be coming to class anymore. Nyak. Oh well.

We finally completed the cast of Joseph this afternoon! After a whole bunch of people came to audition, we realized we already have enough males (well, we can fill in the other female roles anyway), and quite a big fraction of them with powerful voices. Today's final audition went well, thank you. And we ended it with Menchu's amazing rendition of a song from Beauty and The Beast (nope, not the Disney version). We were so happy with the turnout that we can't seem to wait for rehearsals to start. Woohoo!

Wahahaha, Rain and Anthony will also be part of the show as "fillers". Miss Cindy told me to be one of the wives as well. Holy kamote, the SM as part of the cast? Good luck to me.

Nyak, baduy ng title.

Went to school this morning to post the cast list of Joseph. Hung around a little till I got bored around after lunch, so I decided to go to G4 all by my lonesome again.

I walked around, just window-shopping, then I decided to text Lexi to tell her I'm in Makati. As it turned out, she was also in G4, watching Harry Potter with some friends.

I ended up buying a jacket (taking off the tags, I put it on right away, hahaha) and Ian's album. And then I texted Lexi, asking where she was. We met up outside National Bookstore, and I got to meet her friends, Fred and two other girls (holy kamote, Dory-syndrome kicks in once again). We walked around for a while, talking, and then ended up in Powerbooks.

While we were browsing around in the 2nd floor, I get a text from Jun. "I'm at Friday's Alabang with Thea." Holy kamote, I missed Thea! I gotta get there and see her! I said goodbye to Lexi then, and left for ATC.

When I was inside the shuttle bound for Pilar Village (because it passes by Alabang), the girl who sat next to me suddenly said, "Hi Hogi." It was Mel, one of my old batchmates from high school. She just came from work (now I feel old again), and we started catching up on each other's news. Even though we don't really move in the same social circles, we actually had a lot to talk about.

This was hilarious. I mounted the escalator leading to Friday's in such a rush, then when I was in the middle of it, the whole thing suddenly stopped that all of us lurched forward. Wahahaha.

I was about to go into Friday's when I saw Marah walking alone, phone to her ear. I went over to say hi, and as it turned out, she was looking for Ari, who left her with Rich for a while, and then disappeared. I had to go inside then, so I had to say goodbye.

Thea and Jun were still seated at their table, and I was so thrilled to see Thea again that I let out a shriek of delight, not minding that we were at a public place, wahahahaha. Anyway, we did nothing for the next 15 minutes but talk and talk (mostly we wanted to know what Thea has been up to), then Dari arrived (with his usual William Hung-ish look complete with backpack) and joined us. While we were still sitting there, I saw someone pass by, talking loudly to his phone. Hahaha, it was Ari. He passed by us again after a few moments, so I introduced him to the group, then he returned to his table where he was sitting at with Uly. Anyway, Jun had to leave to meet some of this other friends in BF then, so he said goodbye. The three of us, on the other hand, decided to pretend it was Thea's birthday, so we can get free ice cream, wahahaha.. When we got it, Dari got to eat it, and then we decided to go to Royal Caribbean for Jamaican patties.

Dari got patties and strawberry (yay!) frappes for both of us, while Thea did most of the talking as usual. As it turned out, she was enjoying the entire day because she got to meet 3 groups of her friends today, from Tim (hahaha, small world) to her voice teacher, to her former classmates in Playshop (us, duh).

Thea girl, I missed you! We gotta hang out again same day next week! Hahaha, we were already planning it with Jun before he left to meet up next Friday at Friday's (how apt), but we have to meet right after my rehearsals. No biggie, I hope it pushes through. I can drag Menchu with me after rehearsals, and Karl will be back from San Francisco by then.

When I was about to leave for school yesterday morning so I can pay for the last leg of my tuition, Mikki texted me if I was up. I replied that I was, so he called me. Hahaha, he was asking me if I was going to the Playshop tribute that night, and was asking how I’d get there. I was a commuter forever, so I told him I was commuting. He didn’t want to ride with Eric, and insisted that he wanted to commute, so I told him which MRT station to get off.

I spent the whole morning in school, lining up at the accounting office, paying the last leg of my tuition. It was raining the whole time, and I was already wondering when it was going to let up. I left at around 1 o’clock because I hung around at the YFC cubicle for a while with Tine and Mai-mai until they had to go to class.

Instead of getting off at Santolan-Annapolis station, I got off at Megamall so I can go around. I have this tendency to be a compulsive shopper at times, so if I get to Greenhills early, I might end up buying way too much and spending a lot, ahahaha… Had lunch there as well, and then walked around practically the entire mall to burn what I ate. Then I took a cab to Greenhills. Hahaha, while the cab was in the middle of EDSA, I thought I saw Mikki walking from the Santolan station along with Tikki. I didn’t really know for sure if it was really them, so I shrugged it off.

When I got to Music Museum, I waited at the bottom of the stairs for a while. Franco arrived at almost exactly the same time I did, so I wished him luck before he went upstairs. Pam then arrived and we went upstairs to mingle, and ended up standing around near the doorway. Mikki and Tikki arrived then, looking all sweaty. Sure enough, it really was the two of them that I saw walking! Whoops. When I texted Mikki the commuting directions, I reminded him about the time last year we walked from Music Museum to the MRT station. As it turned out, he forgot to remember that he should cross the street after getting off the station! Wahahahahaha!

They all wanted to grab a bite to eat when Chevy appeared, so they went downstairs. I stayed upstairs with Leslie, who had just received her certificate from her Public Speaking class. Congratulations to Leslie Madonna Ledesma! Wehehehehe…

I spent quite a while sitting on the table in front of the lobby door talking with Sundee the photographer. He offered to be the photographer for my thesis, yay! And I can’t believe he actually offered to do it for free. Huwaw. Thanks, Sundee! Anyway, his brother Robbie (yes, the bald guy) arrived then, and he introduced him to me. Maynard and Robbie then started talking about the roles they got for Full Monty, so yes, that musical will finally be shown this October after being shelved for quite a long time.

Mika and Lucia arrived then, so Leslie and I went downstairs to Auntie Anne’s to meet with them. We then wondered where we want to eat after Franco’s showcase, so we went to the bottom of the stairs leading to Pasto and pored over their menu. Oooh, pesto! That’s it, we’re eating there, hahahaha!

People were already lining up for Sideshow, so we went upstairs. Teena was still at the parking area, but she managed to find us when we got inside. Mikki, Pam, and Tikki were a couple of rows in front of us, so I bugged them for a while before the show started. Then Kiwi appeared, trying to get me to buy the class’ program, so of course, I did.

Sideshow… I first heard this musical from Tita Menchu, when a bunch of us from Playshop MT1 2002 auditioned for this song she put into the showcase, called “I Will Never Leave You”. As for the show itself, I loved it! A-mazing. Chari was so damn proud of her students that she actually cried onstage. There was a number of people that I recognized from Blue Rep. The girls who played Daisy and Violet (both pairs in both acts) were spectacular. Hahaha, hirit ni Mikki: “Franco improved soooo much.” Hahahaha, and that was judging his last performance as Peter in Narnia.

Speaking of Franco, his looks in Act 2 scared me because… well, if you saw Ari with me before, you’d know, hahaha. Mikki used to say that Franco looked like him. So when I told Franco about this…
Franco: Tigang ka lang.
Me: Huh?
Franco: Maybe you don’t see him kasi anymore.
Me: Nyak, I see him all the time kaya! Wala lang, you just looked so much like him kanina.

After the show, we had to leave the theater, so Mika, Lucia, Teena and I went to Pasto while Leslie went with her friends. Whee, pasta time! Hahaha, of course, I just had to share what I was thinking during Sideshow.

The tribute that night was fun as well. Mikki, Chevy, Eric and Jennie even sang as a group, and Eric’s mic finally worked! Go Eric! Ahahahaha…

Hahaha, I’m getting lazy to write. Anyway, there were so many people I knew all around. I saw way too many people that I haven’t seen in quite a while. Hahaha, Pam, Tikki and I had a hard time getting Mikki out of Music Museum when we were about to go home because he wanted to say goodbye to everyone he knew. Heck, if we both did that, nako, Pam and her ‘rents might just leave us without a ride.

We ended up eating at North Park in ATC for a while, and tried to get Lawyn, Mae and Jun to join us as well. Lawyn and Mae caught up with us after watching Harry Potter, but Jun was still wondering whether he should still join us or not. In the end, he decided not to.

We then moved to Starbucks Madrigal (I love this place so much), and just read from the quiz book that was there. We stayed there till the lights and the entire place had to close already and then we all went home.

Went to school this morning to get an entry permit for the outsiders in our Joseph cast. Then I met up with Ari for lunch at McDo because he was going to accompany me to Wack Wack Towers, where I was to meet David and some of the other actors of The Wedding of the Century.

When we got to Shang, I couldn't resist going to Body Shop to buy some stuff first. Anyway, we set off again to Wack Wack Towers and waited in the lobby for David and Gina. When they arrived, I realized the guy with the really curly hair sitting on the other side of the lobby was Kiko, who was going to be part of the cast as Robert, the groom. Wahahaha, I just had to tell them that Ari might want to try reading a part because he did have theater training (for a very short time). We then went to the library at the 2nd floor parking area, where David handed out copies of the scripts for us to read for today's script reading. I finally got to read the entire script, and it was pretty funny at some parts, like the crazy wedding singers, the psycho deacon, plus crazy pair-ups. Oh yeah, I get to play Sheila, one of the bridesmaids. Heeheehee...

Two girls arrived a little later, April and Chona, and they happened to be Kiko's friends from UST. I forgot which one of them is which, but one of them will play Lori, the maid of honor, and the other will be the head server at the wedding reception.

Anna, the girl who will be playing Brandy (the bride), finally arrived, and we started the script reading. We all had so much fun reading the entire script, sometimes reading other parts because there were only about a handful of us in there.

After the reading, we all went up to the 9th floor (which I think is Gina's unit). Gina served us with pancit (Mmmmm...), and then Ari got to talk with her and David. Hahaha, David, Gina and Anna all thought that he was brought up in the US because of how he spoke English. Naks...

Anyway, I had to get to school then for Joseph rehearsals, and some of the others had to leave as well, so Kiko was the only one who stayed.

So how was the first day? It was pretty good. Miss Cindy briefed the cast, and then everyone introduced themselves. Then I borrowed the VCD played from the LRC so we could play my video of the musical. We spent most of the time sitting on the floor of the multipurpose room watching the video, with Miss Cindy, Rain and I off to one side discussing each scene and song number. It was so amusing watching the cast from that angle because they were all so intent. I even saw at least a couple of them mouthing the lyrics. Heck, Rian was practically singing the whole libretto, hahaha!

Sir Jed arrived sometime in the middle of Act 2, with his book of the musical scores. After the video, the cast trooped down to the chapel (it was the only free place that had a piano we can use, because the pianos in the music rooms were reserved for Music Production students) so Sir Jed can figure out their voices, and even made them sing one of his original songs. Hahaha, after everyone was done singing, he and I got to talk about his song. He wanted to sell it, but he needed someone with a really good voice to sing it, because without a good singer, the song can sound... well, bad. Hahaha, and then he figured someone like, uhm, Christian Bautista could sing it. Sir Jed! I was thinking the same thing! Hahahaha! Then our topic shifted to celebrities who could play Joseph, and he brought up Ian and even Nyoy, because he was a CSB alumnus. Right... been there, done that. We already tried calling before, didn't work.

Nyak, because of Sir Jed, my LSS tonight is "The Way You Look At Me". Hahaha, as if I mind it at all.

Entry written in a piece of paper.
[June 09, 2004; 13:55]

Quiet time before I meet with Ari so we can go to Wack Wack together. Trying to fix my scehdule, just scribbling on my calendar. Nothing much yet, really, except for thesis rehearsals in the evenings. I have yet to get a schedule of the shoot of the feature film from our director. And I have to ask for it today.

I seem to have trouble refusing what people offer. I feel like I might get bored with how things are going in my life if I stop looking for all these opportunities to show what I can do.

What will become of me when I finish school? Will I become an on-the-go "racketeer" like Bea? An ASM with eccentricities like Krystal? A low-profile events organizer like Jem? Or will I end up racket-hungry at a call center like Karen? Heck, surely I can't be a popular musician like our pioneer graduate, hahaha!

Hehehe, or maybe I'll follw Luz's footsteps and be a "personal assistant par excellance", as Lea had put it.

Got to meet with Leola, DA and Kuya Jude yesterday during lunch. Great meeting you guys!

I'm getting amused with my Joseph cast. They seem to eager to do the show. We mostly did music rehearsals last night, and Sir Jed taught "Joseph's Coat".

Had to fly early from rehearsal because our MT1 class (from 2002) had a reunion last night. Heck, Jamie had called earlier yesterday asking if I was coming, and Karl even rang my phone in the middle of rehearsal. I was still expecting that they'd still be at ATC, but when I boarded a bus, I got a text from Jun that they were at Dencio's. Ngak, I was hoping it would be somewhere easier to go by commute. Oh well. But thank goodness he asked if I might have a hard time getting there, so he picked me up at Caltex near Bellevue.

Mikki was with Jun when they picked me up, and we waited a little while longer because Dari was also meeting us there. Hahaha, we even saw Ryan Agoncillo arrive with his motorcycle. Anyway, then when Dari texted again, he said that he was there. Nyak, no Dari in sight, so we figured he was at the other Caltex, near Ford! Ngak. So we picked him up there and went to Dencio's. Wahahaha, 80s sound trip...we found a station that played "Take On Me" and cranked up the volume.

When we reached Dencio's, I was so hyper. I was so thrilled to see them all together again. There was Mikki, Jun, Dari Lawyn (with Mae in tow), Kathy, Shan, Ecel, Thea, Jamie and Karl. And naks, SIAM's Jeff was also there to jam with the band. Speaking of the band, boxxcolony's Camille was the vocalist! I haven't seen that girl in quite a while.

Ahahaha, since I haven't eaten anything that day since lunch with Leola, DA and Kuya Jude, I was starving. Thank goodness Shan waited for me to arrive so we can eat. But man, it was already 11 in the evening! Plus our food arrived late, around past midnight. Hahaha, hirit ni Shan when it arrived, "We ordered our food last night. It arrived this morning." Man, kulitan galore. Favorite quote for the night was Thea's "NakakashEt!" AHAHAHAHAHA!

Karl had to go home at around midnight (hahaha, Cinderella), so Jamie had to drive him home, but promised to be back.

It started drizzling, and the table we were sitting at didn't have a roof, so we switched tables. Ahahaha, then guess who moved into the table next to us? Ari and his clique. Hahaha.

Anyway, we even got Kathy to jam with Camille's band. Naks. Hahaha, of course, I just had to do the patented HUWAW, no matter how annoyed the other table got. Then Kathy had to leave, along with Lawyn and Mae, so we had to say goodbye to them.

After paying the bill, we all left and stood around the parking area. Hahaha, we were supposed to move to another place for coffee, but instead we just stood around there for quite some time, just talking, until we said goodbye to Thea and Jamie, then the rest of us (Shan, Mikki, Jun, Ecel and Dari), piled up in Jun's car and set off for our respective houses.

Joseph rehearsals became really fun this evening despite the fact that Sir Jed wasn't there for the songs.

Because we didn't get to do log rolls the last time, that's what I decided to do. But before that, we did what we should've done during the first rehearsal, which was the traditional name game. Then we finally did the log rolls. Hahaha, when Mimay heard that I asked them to take off their shoes, she didn't want to, so she sat through the whole thing. But it was so fun watching the entire group grunt and laugh at the same time. Anyway, Rain workshopped the cast till we ran out of things to do, then we reviewed the songs using the study tape.

Jaypi, a former blockmate from when I first transferred to CSB, called yesterday. We used to talk to each other on the phone frequently during our first term, and I can say that he is the guy in the block I've grown closest to. Anyway, we caught up on each other's lives, and he asked me what I've been up to.

As it turned out, I'm the only one left in the block who hasn't graduated yet (kasi naman, Hogi, di kasi mapalagay sa course). But according to Jaypi, so far, I'm the one who's been pretty happy with what I'm doing, specially with work. I think he even commented that I've already become the most successful in the block, and to think that I haven't ever graduated. Nyak, I really can't seem to believe this, so I asked what the other guys (because our block is composed of mostly guys and a handful of girls) have been up to. One is desperately trying to be a model, another already got married without telling us, one is living off his dad's company, and the rest are all bums. Holy kamote.

Getting hungry... *goes to refrigerator for a late-night snack* Holy kamote, I've been pigging out this entire day.

I went to Starbucks Madrigal this morning to meet with Jun. He told me a few days ago about this show he's planning to do in November, and as usual, he asked my help.

After an hour an a half of brainstorming, we finally came up with a show, fusing together some stuff from the choir and adapted excerpts and scenes from our MT1 2002 showcase. To quote, "We have a show!" Hahaha, funny how sitting in peaceful Starbucks Madrigal can make you think and get your creative juices flowing.

Had a craving for Pho Hoa's chicken vegetable salad, so I bought one to go and brought it to school for lunch.

Rehearsals this evening consisted of script reading (under the wrath of Miss Cindy, hahaha), and a short acting exercise where we grouped them into 3 groups and acted out scenes of our choice from the show. The first group with Lawyn, Ryan and Rian was hilarious, because I gave them "One More Angel In Heaven". They did the entire song with their own interpretation, with Ryan singing Reuben's part, and Rian acting as an isolated Joseph.

I found out that Lawyn and Moppet will be OJTs in Baby. Rawr... I sent a text message to Miss Bernice asking if she needs more people. She told me that they're only taking OJTs because of the budget. Waaaah... and to think I texted Luz earlier this week. Her reply? "Hi there sis, sorry late na ko nakareply. Regarding Baby I don't know yet kung paano mangyayari dun. Text kita kung kelangan ok. Ikaw pa! Ü"

Rawr... so what will I do for August aside from finishing our thesis production book and Tecthe4? I need a racket...
Posted by tymeless on June 16, 2004 at 11:05 PM | How's my acting?
I caught a cold from Me-an yesterday, so I didn't get enough sleep. And when I did, I woke up with a slightly sore throat along with this darn cold.

Thank goodness I didn't have to think much during Tecthe4. For a change, I actually understood Anthony's report, hahaha. So I have to admit that the class was pretty mild this morning.

Retreated to the YFC cubicle to rest, because I started feeling light-headed, and was afraid that I might end up having a fever. My mom was already bugging me through text if I had taken my medicine and if my throat still hurts and all. Thanks for the concern, Mom.

During thesis class, we didn't do much except collect signatures for some letters, and then reprinted and re-reprinted some of them due to some typos. I was feeling a little drowsy at first so I caught some zzz's in the cubicle, until I felt Rain waking me up, saying that Sir Gerry was looking for all the members of our thesis group. Rain kept saying that I should just go home instead of attending rehearsal because I was feeling sick, but I kept insisting I stay.

Hahaha, during rehearsal, I learned that laughter really can be good medicine. We had the cast do script reading for "One More Angel In Heaven" so they can do the country western accent just right. We ended up workshopping them, pairing them up (one boy and one girl) and doing a dialogue with the song's lines, using a courtship scene as a situation. Since we were lacking girls, Miss Cindy made me join in and paired me up with Rian. Hahaha, we did this whole "Johnny Bravo and girl" scene because the accent sort of fits. We were all laughing at all the pairs, and especially Lawyn and Mico, because the guy sounded like Forrest Gump if you closed your eyes.

Anyway, I gotta log out now. Need to catch more zzz's.

Typing this at AIM right now, with Ari beside me talking to Marah on the phone. And we're both in need of sleep.

We both went to Malate church yesterday evening to shoot the wedding scene for Wedding of The Century. Man, we were there by 8 in the evening, and what time did we wrap up?

...5 o'clock in morning.

I'm too lazy to type... Plus we have to leave right now. I only went online for a while to check my mail.

Random post.

I first found out a few weeks ago that Lea Salonga was on Friendster, through her Manila PA, Luz, who happens to be a good friend of mine that I met through Atlantis. Luz was trying to add me to her list, and before I approved her request, I checked out her page first. One of her testimonials read, "Personal assistant par excellance! She's a light presence to be around, masarap kasama talaga. See you sa aking pagbalik! Mwah!" And it came from someone named Lea.

Checked out that Lea's page, and found out it was the real Lea Salonga. How? She's actually been on Friendster since May of last year, and so far she only has about 30 people on her list. It's not like she never goes online, being the uber-techie girl I know she is. I found out from Anna that she doesn't approve just anyone's request. Anyway, I decided to add her to my list (an occasion that hardly happens, because I only log on to Friendster to check messages and to approve/deny friend requests and testimonials), and after a day, she approved my request.

I went to her newsgroups earlier, and saw this thread called "Lea on Friendster?" Someone was asking if she does have an account, and she confirmed it.

Fan 1: Hi Lea! Do you have a friendster account?
Lea: Yes, I do... it's pretty obvious which one is mine, amongst the myriad of others bearing my name.
Fan 2: I've added you...please confirm my friend request. Thank you.
Lea: Sorry, I've limited my Friendster account to include only people I know as friends. If you're not a friend, your request will be denied.

Only people she knows as friends... She still remembers me! It's so flattering how she considers me as her friend. Que flattering. And I think that she probably just remembers me as the girl in Proof who was dying in silent laughter backstage because of her jokes. I can't wait to see her again in Baby.

Despite the fact that I was lacking sleep yesterday, I still went to Malate church in the evening to shoot more scenes of the Wedding.

Once again, we started late, igh. Plus we had to wait for the aisles to get dressed because the decor we used before was taken down, and Gina had to go out and buy the exact same kind of flowers that was used before.

We had to shoot scenes in front of the altar last night, so that meant the scenes included the bride, the groom, the best man, the maid of honor (yours truly), the priest, the photographer and the videographer. It also included Ronald as the wedding singer, because Kiko had to tackle him to the floor, then end up in a heap with the other guys. It was so funny because I was the only girl in the scene, and David really didn't tell me what to do, so I had to improvise.

Then again, David hardly tells me what to do. He seems to think that I always know what to do. Well, some of the time anyway. Nyak.

The longest scene we ever did was a montage of the actual ceremony. The bride walks down the aisle, the couple kneels in front of the priest, the veil is pinned by the best man and maid of honor, the priest blesses the couple, the kiss, and then the final walk back down the aisle. My feet were really hurting by then, and everyone was getting really tired and pissed because we kept doing it over and over again. Heck, who wouldn't get pissed when once again, it was four o'clock in the friggin' morning. My shoes were killing me, but I had to smile through it all because the damn camera was in our faces almost all the time.

It was almost 5 when the cab Ari and I took stopped in front of my village, where my dad was picking me up (my mom didn't want me to take the tricycle at that time. I dragged my weary self to bed for a "power nap", and woke up a couple of hours later because I had to go back to school.

Waaah...

Thank goodness we have a break for the rest of this week. We're shooting at the Moon Palace restaurant again for more of the reception scenes this Saturday. But now at least I can catch up on my sleep. I looked like a wreck when I got to school this morning to meet with my thesismates.

Need...more...rest...

Kyla texted me this morning asking if I still wanted to work as stage manager at the Akafellas concert. Heck, of course I'm up for a good concert. Teena's gonna be working with us too, coolness. I can't wait.

We were supposed to shoot more of the Wedding reception scenes yesterday at the Moon Palace Restaurant, but I think because David forgot to reserve the venue, he postponed it til today. So I'm taking advantage of the free time to use the Internet before I take a nap and get ready to go to Shaw.

Spent the early afternoon hanging out with Ari in Makati. We first bummed around at AIM, then we went to Greenbelt 3 to watch Shrek 2. Hahaha, Puss in Boots is soooo adorable when he uses those puppy dog eyes! It makes me want to go back to Powerbooks and buy that Shrek 2-themed kiddie book of opposites, where there's a pic of him doing those eyes.

Awww...isn't he adorable?

After the movie, we went to Alabang and hung around at Marah's place. Oooh, we got to watch Naruto on her PC. Man, just watching a few episodes made me miss the good ol' days.

What good ol' days? I used to be quite the anime freak, thanks to Rosa, Iam, and the Funky Bunch. Rosa first got me into it when Sailor Moon first graced the television. Actually, I've been a huge anime fan since I was a kid, because of my brother's influences, watching Astoboy, Voltes V, and Daimos. And that was back when it wasn't such a trend yet! Then when I met the Funky Bunch, they happened to be this clique of senior guys (when I was still a junior in high school) from our track team who had tons of stuff, from the cute anime series to heck, even hentai. They became my suppliers, lending me CDs of anime I liked, and introducing me to new stuff.

Hahaha, man, those days... it's amusing to look back on those days. Why is it that kids today grow up so fast? Back when I was a junior and in my anime phase, I didn't have a care about love life and guys (heck, I was even dubbed as "one of the guys" in our clique). I still enjoyed music then, even sang in school productions (duh!) and sometimes sang with the chorale (because most were involved in school musical productions), and also played the drums occasionally. And it was all just a little hobby then. No groupies, no phases (except for that one time I tried to get into Hard Rock because the Moffats were there, hahahaha!), and no extreme fanaticims.

I miss my high school self. I wonder what I would do if I were to go back in time and talk to my younger self? What will I tell Hogi, the naive teenager?

Just got home from Moon Palace Restaurant.

Gah, when Ari and I got to the restaurant past noon, we were told that when David checked out the footage from the previous shoot at the same venue, the audio was really bad so we had to reshoot some scenes. Since both of us were already there, they decided to reshoot our "famous scene" first. Hahaha, we added a bit more to it, though.

Because the audio was still fooling around, it took quite a while for some other scenes to be reshot. Then we also did that goldfish scene, where the best man had to swallow the goldfish from a bowl. Hahaha, it was so funny because the guy really did put the little fishie in his mouth, leaving the tail peeping out.

The day was pretty much uneventful, because of the reshooting and schtuff. Was getting kinda concerned with my besty Ari. Was in a bad mood for practically the whole day. Gah...

I've been noticing that I've been using my journal and the Internet as a scapegoat. Whenever I feel frustrated or lost or when I feel the need to vent, I walk out and go online. Then I start pouring my frustrations out in my journal.

I'm really a secretive person. I don't like telling too much about myself, yet I've been blogging about the things that happen in my life for more than 3 years now.

(Wait, commercial break... I'm here in the computer lab in school, with both hands on the keyboard. I've stopped typing to think of what to say next but all my fingers are resting on the keyboard, but I can see the mouse pointer moving on its own!!!)

I guess I'm still lacking sleep. Maybe that's why I feel this way. Nyak.

(Commercial break 2: Nyak, the mouse isn't really moving on its own. the cord is just pulling it back because it's all twisted up.)

Sometimes I just want to take a breather and do nothing. But when I try to do it at home, I still feel this need to go out and do something. Gak, Hogi, make up your damn mind...

Maybe I just don't want people to bug me as often. That way, I won't have to feel so stressed out. I hate it when people get on my nerves. It drives me off the wall because I don't really like getting mad at them, or even show any signs of negative vibes.

Met up with Teena yesterday at Greenbelt at around noon because we planned to have lunch together. As usual, when we get together, we couldn't decide where to eat. After a bit of walking around, we settled ourselves inside Haiku.

Ari was in the area so he joined us. But it was after Teena and I had already eaten so he sat around with us. Hay nako, kulitan galore as usual.

We stayed there for quite a long time that one of the waitresses had to go to our table to ask if we still need to order anything else. I guess that was our cue to leave then, hahaha. Said goodbye to Ari when he left for AIM, then Teena and I went up to Food Choices for (what else?) Ice Monster. We hung around, just talking, until she had to go back to Pasig and I had to go to school.

Hahaha, "Quote for the Day" from Teena:
"Wala ka sa shoes ko, walang sapatos!"

I had to smile at how much progress we had at rehearsals last night. We covered only one song and part of another the other night, and that was it. Last night, we began with the "Prologue" and finished until "Joseph's Dream". I got so amused with the Brothers' choreo that Miss Cindy did for that last song that I wanted to be one of the brothers, even just stand in for one of them! Hahahahaha... Of course, we still had to clean up that last part of the song.
