let my feet rest
I didn't get much sleep last night because I had to finish putting my Tecthe4 report/midterms together. I was uber anxious because heck, it was the same teacher who flunked us the year before. For the midterms this morning, we had to be in business attire, and I didn't even bother bringing any extra clothes because I already had a lot of stuff in my bag.
I was the very first one in the hot seat. Each of us had half an hour to explain our assigned chapters. And I actually survived, hahaha.
After thesis class, I went to Greenbelt for the DTR of the Akafellas concert at the onstage theater. Even until now, I still don't understand why Franco does DTRs a week before the show. *shrug* What is basically done in a DTR is practically how the show will run. But I guess what he thought a DTR meant was getting to use the mics and stage. Oh well, he's the boss, and I was too tired to argue.
I can't believe I managed to survive the whole day wearing heeled leather shoes.
Anyway, Teena, Leslie (a newly-hired SM) and I spent a good deal of going around, even going out to buy stuff. As expected, Franco had us put masking tape on the floor to help with the blocking and choreo. When he showed us the set design, it was brilliant (Rent-inspired, even). But to my dismay, there was no floor plan. The perspective view of the design wasn't much help either, because there wasn't much depth (hay, Hogi, stop being so critical again). So I had to draw up my own floor plan interpretation of the set before we went to work laying the tape down.
Ian was there, of course, to rehearse his songs with the 'fellas again, including their blocking (not much of it, really). So were his manager, Sir Carlo (hahaha, back in our Narnia days, I used called him "Tito Carlo", but I doubt he still remembers me) and David. Hahaha, when Ian sat down on the stage's apron directly in front of me (we SMs had to take down blocking notes so I sat on the floor in front of the stage), I couldn't help it. I just had to tease and say, "Ohmygod! It's Christian Bautista!" Hence I received the one raised eyebrow, ahahaha.
Me: *to Teena* See? Like Reuben, his hair looks weird in normal light.
Ian: You dyed your hair too.
Uhm, yes, I can see that.
Then of course, we had to rehearse the Broadway medley, as Kyla did the blocking. Once again, we had to scribble and take down all the blocking notes. Holy kamote. I'm used to normal blocking notes, not quick blocking with choreo. But it's a fun challenge, actually.
And now, here's another dose of funny quotes...
Ian: (as he was saying goodbye to everyone) I love this job! I get to kiss all the girls!
Leslie: (after having sat on a wet patch on the carpet) I feel wet...
Then there was this annoying buzzing sound from the speaker due to static...
*Kszzzzzh*
Myke: (immediately after the static) ...At sa iba pang mga balita...
Time to get some rest.
