Four's Company's Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat closed last night. Finally.

This week has been so crazy. Raised voices, muttered snide comments, laughter, and tears.

I once heard Anthony tell me backstage, "Never again." No more full-scale productions as producers. It does show how much our group enjoys the artistic part rather than the production side.

When we opened last Wednesday afternoon, much to our disappointment, the audience were so few. Yet, our classmates who came to support us were laughing their asses off in the front row when they found out that it was Sir Manolet singing "Canaan Days" as his cameo appearance. The evening was better, the audience more responsive. Including my parents. Hahaha, because Sir Jethro had to leave for the evening, I had to do the voiceover at the beginning of the show. And my mom was so amused at Rian as the Pharaoh and Robert as one of the Narrators that she came up to them after the show to introduce herself.

As for our Josephs... Ryan was feeling sort of sick already during the morning, so when he opened the show in the afternoon, I heard a piyok during one of his solos. Altair naman, he was finally hitting all the right notes, much to our relief. But during the big solo ("Close Every Door"), we all heard this uber I-can't-help-but-notice-that piyok. Oh well.

It was so surprising to hear some words from Miss Cindy after the evening show... "You did me proud." Do my ears deceive me? Hahahaha.

Yesterday, the cast did so much better. But Ryan was sick and was already losing his voice, so not only did Henry had to play Joseph during the afternoon, but he also had to take over as Joseph for the closing show. Personally, among the 3 Josephs, judging by voice, he has my vote. Altair has this tendency to go flat, and Ryan's voice is too overpowering. But of course, when it comes to Henry's enunciation, it sounds sablay at times. "Guards! Sez him! Lock him in a cell!" Wahahahahaha! Oist! It's SEIZE, not SEZ!

Then there was some conflict between our director and some cast members before the evening show started. Some people were already ready to lash out because of some attitude problems, even Rain, so I was took aside by one of the cast because he said I could be more calm and level-headed for the confrontation. CALM? LEVEL-HEADED? I was almost in tears even before the problem started because I was sort of anticipating it already.

But of course, "the show must go on." Someone didn't go on as planned, but we had to remedy it by getting the brothers to strut their stuff. And to think that the EVP was watching. But the audience actually loved it. I myself was pounding the platform with my hand to keep myself from laughing out loud backstage.

To keep myself sane, I just goofed around backstage while the cast was performing. Danced along to the music with the crew on stage left, nyahahaha... Even attempted to crawl along with the cast during "Close Every Door" because I was already wearing my black hooded jacket. But of course, I couldn't do any real playtime because the show was being documented by the LRC.

After the show, strike as usual, counted our money, talked about debts. Then I hung out with some of the cast, along with Anthony and Cris at House Blend afterward. When the place closed, Anthony, Cris, Drei and I went to Jarrdy's, but then the rest wanted to go to a videoke somewhere in Malate. I opted not to go because I felt drained that I needed to go home.

During the ride back home, I remembered what Cris said while we were walking to Jarrdy's. "Now what am I going to do from 6:00-9:00 every evening?"

Exactly.

I fell in love with the entire cast. Now it's all over.

May I return to the beginning
The light is dimming, and the dream is too
The world and I, we are still waiting
Still hesitating
Any dream will do...

To the cast and crew of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, CONGRATULATIONS! Four's Company's thesis wouldn't have been such a blast without you guys!
