My cousin Beverly asked me last night if I can go with her to CCP on Saturday. Her Japanese Language class is required to watch 2 contemporary films out of the 6 being shown for Eiga Sai (festival of Japanese cinema) at CCP's Dream Theater.

So we're watching the two films that will be shown on Saturday, Juvenile and Waterboys.

The Twilight Samurai (2002), about a low-level samurai who is called on to defend the honor of his clan although his heart is not in it

Hush! (2001), a self-centered gay man is forced to find out what family means when he finds himself in a triangle with a man he loves and a woman he got pregnant

Juvenile (2000), a child discovers a time-travelling alien and they become friends

Don't Look Back (1999), two 10-year-old boys get into all kinds of mischief together and soon learn of the brutality of life

Give it All (1998), about a high-school student who decides to form an all-woman rowing team after he is rejected by her school's all-male team
