a day in CCP
It's technically a Friday, so once again, I'll blog about events from the day before.
I got the others to join me to watch Stages of Love at CCP's Silangan Hall at 10pm, but when I checked my schedule of NTF events, I saw that Breakups and Breakdowns, this new musical written by Joel Trinidad, will be shown at the Conference Hall at 5pm. So of course, I wanted to see that as well, and invited people who were free at that time. It's free anyway, hehehe.
I walked to CCP with Rain, Mish, Nikki and Nicco, (I even found Chiko parking her car while we were walking) and went straight to the Conference Hall. When we got to the entrance of the venue, I found Joel standing outside, so I got to introduce him to the others. Then we filed in the theater and got seats near the piano.
Nice concept for a musical. Well, it's pretty common, and some of us figured that the idea probably came from a personal experience. It could happen, right? There was this one song in particular that Topper sang with Sheila Valderrama that I liked and can really relate to. Holy kamote. I can't wait for the show to be produced. Joel, if you can read this, I like what you wrote so far.
Quote from Rain:
"Isa lang masasabi ko tungkol kay _____: HUBAD!"
Wahahahahahaha!
And as for Nikki, there was eye candy all around for her, teeheehee...
Lotsa familiar people all around. Some of the members of SPIT were sitting next to us, and even Chiko and Binky were there for Nica, who was part of the cast. Of course, once again, the brilliant man behind the ivories was none other than Rony.
After the show, we went to those outdoor food places near Star City to grab some dinner and to kill the hours away. Ferson managed to catch up, and to our surprise, he had shaved the beard that he was growing for Miko's film. Wahahahaha... Anyway, after a few rounds of videoke for Rain, Son, Mish and Nicco, we then headed back to CCP for Stages of Love.
We arrived at the Silangan Hall a tad early, because I could still hear Noel, Roy, Lana and Jennie running through the songs with Rony. We dawdled near the entrance for a few minutes until we decided to grab a table (or two) near the front. Cris, Arni and Lav even managed to catch up with us.
My golly, for some reason, my hunger wasn't satiated by the two sticks of barbecue with rice that I ate near Star City, so Mish, Nikki, Arni and I ordered pasta before the show began.
Amusing show. I liked how they used a variety of songs ranging from OPM, mushy sentimental love songs, to Broadway musicals.
Hirit lang, close na ang CLOKWORX and SPIT, heeheehee, and it all started with Beepsie and Son.
Getting sleepy. G'night, er, morning, world.
