empty... and fill it up with drum notation
Ever had that feeling that things just went on without you?
Yeah, that's what I'm feeling right now.
Don't get me wrong, I'm actually pretty content with where I am and what I'm doing today. During one quiet time alone late this afternoon, that feeling suddenly hit me. I know it sort of sounds conceited, but it just feels weird that in some places, everything's fine without me in it.
Oh well.
For the past several days, I've been listening to some outcasts in my music collection (hahaha!). And it made me want to keep listening to every track, and keep playing it over and over, and write down the drum notation.
Yes, you heard that right. Drum notation. For those of you who don't know, I took brief drumming lessons during the first semester of my senior year of high school. Hahaha, I was such a boyband teenybopper fanatic then, that I would play songs by Moffats and Moonpools and Caterpillars then, punctuated by Queen and songs recommended by my rocker teacher.
So anyway, everytime I listen to those tracks, I keep having these urges to write them down on paper. I'm not really a good drummer (heck, I don't even play Percussion Freak), I just want to try them out. Maybe one of these days, when I get a break, I might write down the notation of all those songs.
And... 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and...
