Moira
Ahehehe, I was supposed to vent about something, but then opted not to take it out here.
So what has been happening in the boring world of Hogi? Nothing much.
I got an unusual and surprising text messages. First was last Tuesday morning when I was getting ready to leave the house. It was from Zyra...
Hogi... I have bad news. Moira died in a motorcycle accident...
She passed away last Monday morning... at 17 years old.
I didn't really believe it at first, because I remember someone playing this huge prank that someone had passed away. So I texted another person from a totally different group of friends. His reply confirmed that it was true.
Holy kamote.
Moira was our classmate in Trumpets Playshop for 2 years in a row. Tall and slim, with a model's figure (well, she used to be one, anyway). You would think she's in her twenties until you got to talk to her (she's still in her teens). The way she would run up to you, the way she would laugh and talk... It was all so... Moira. I would sometimes believe that we actually switched ages whenever I stand next to her.
When I first met her in summer of 2000, I didn't know she was 14 until I had already dropped out of the class.
I remembered how Moira kept leaping in front of me that very first day that I brought my video camera to class in 2001, trying to document everything. Her physical appearance led to being typecasted as the ditzy Britney, the stereotypical mean girl-slash-ringleader of the popular girl group in our showcase. But in the end, it wasn't really typecasting. She just pulled off the role so well.
"You dare mock me, BRIT-ney?"
Moira was also our prom queen in 2002 showcase. I was a wreck from the previous showcase and had no clue about makeup, but she quickly did her magic and I was ready in a pinch for our own show. She kept cracking me up backstage, all dressed up to the nines and in full makeup, yet trying to pretend she was gay and hitting on all of us.
A girl so full of life, and full of laughter.
I'll miss you, Moira. I love you.
