mediterranean food trip
Kassy had invited Teena and me to one of their functions in AKIC, so that's where we went early this evening. I had missed last week's function, so I didn't want to miss this one, which was their Mediterranean Cuisine function.
Teena had picked me up ouside my office building a few minutes after I got out. Then we were off to CSB-AKIC. Ahehe, we got there about an hour early, so we had to wait for Kassy to pick us up downstairs at the entrance.
We usually eat a heavy snack at the office at around 3pm (usually pandesal plus some extra), but because we were watching Brokeback Mountain, we didn't realize what time it was until we had finished the flick. Anyway, so I didn't eat before I arrived at the function, so my stomach was ready to eat anything.
Whee, I loved the motif. Well, not the whole setup, really. Just the color scheme, which was blue and white tablecloths and yellow napkins.
Ahahaha, first of all, most of the food was sour. Well, not too sour... just that the main taste was sour. Starting off with the gezpacho, the soup surprised me at first. Like Teena, I wasn't used to cold tomato soup, but I welcomed it. Hahaha, throughout the entire meal, I was the one who keeps finishing the food on my plate first. The color of the beef inside the stuffed cabbage (don't ask me what the name of the entree was, it was long and I can't even pronounce it) was kind of disturbing at first, because it was gray in color. Kat was the first one who mentioned it out loud, so I said that if you cover it up with the cabbage again, you'd forget about it, hahaha.
Oh yeah, we got to meet Chef Nick that evening too. He was also sitting at our table, and while we were working on the entrees, he first brought up this topic about Tamille's iPod, and then evolved into a conversation about local 80s TV shows, hahaha.
Thanks for dinner, Kass. Kat, it was great to meet you too.
Hahaha, Teena and I ended up bringing some of the "Lekhadnodolmathes" (ahahaha, yes, that's the main entree) home. My mom took it out of my hands before letting me in the house when I arrived, hahaha.
Watching Sweet Charity tomorrow, yay!
