Appasionato
Yesterday was Jun's concert at Equitable PCI Tower, called Appasionato, which is actually a Thanksgiving concert for his being accepted into the Daniel Ferro Summer Vocal Program in Italy this July. He had contacted me earlier in the week, asking if I could help out, and I obliged.
When I finally found Jun and Ecel at the venue, Jun suddenly told me to go with him to the tech booth for the lights. Santa banana, he didn't say that lighthing was part of the job description. Fortunately, it was just basic stuff. He just wanted me to sit there and check the stage lighting while he was onstage. It was OK, because the show was going to be a little intimate anyway, but I sure wish they had colored gels because everything was mostly open white, and a bit of amber.
Well, I didn't really do much after that, ahehehe. So I went with Ecel to get some early dinner at KFC a couple of blocks away. My golly, these past several months, I've hardly eaten at any fastfood place except for Jollibee (and only for the pancakes for breakfast), so it was a welcome change.
I got to watch the first half of the show in the tech booth. My golly, I love the voice of Sharon (one of the guest sopranos). After giving the 10-minute intermission announcement, I went down to the lobby to hang around with Ecel. Hehehe, we ended up spending the entire second half of the show there. Dari arrived with his significant other after a couple of songs.
Hmmm... why is it that when you meet a friend after quite a long time, the first question to ask would be "How's your lovelife?"
After the show, I quickly said my goodbyes, then went off to Glorietta to meet with Nicco. Ahehe, I got a little disoriented at first by the time I stepped outside. I forgot whether I was along Gil Puyat or Makati Avenue, so I crossed the street and almost got on the wrong jeep that was headed away from Ayala Center, hahaha!
Found Nicco at (where else?) Timezone, and then started thinking whether we should watch a movie or something. Kept walking and talking around the cinema area, yet with another one of our True Confessions episodes, ahahaha. Debated on watching either Bandidas or Grandma's Boy, then decided on the latter because the last full show of the other movie started a little too late.
Hehe, okie, Grandma's Boy was funny. It's nice to watch a little no-brainer flick every once in a while. Too bad Bei and Maje couldn't join us. They're planning to watch Ice Age 2 later this week, and invited me to come along, coolness. I wonder if there's still work on Wednesday.
