a different crowd
I found Bei in Greenbelt after work on Tuesday, with Arumi and their other friend, Aris (sp?). Once the latter 2 had decided to go home, I found myself hanging around Glorietta with Bei.
It was amusing being in the company of that girl for the first time on our own. I've only known her through Nicco because they were both in the Kapihan production together, and before a couple of days ago, we only found ourselves hanging out together in the company of common friends. Then came the frequent chat sessions and random text messaging, and my "friend-in-law" view of her disappeared.
Nicco had told me last night, "Hindi ka naman mahirap kaibiganin eh. Malamang nga magaan loob sayo." That was pretty flattering. Well, it's not just my doing at all anyway. I found her fun to be with, even if we have our own quirks, and I'm not just saying that.
Even though we have our own shopping preferences (she prefers to shop with company, while I like shopping alone), I was amused at the fact that we had a certain eye on jackets, and because she was so persistent about this one jacket we found, she impulsively withdrew some money just to get it that very minute. Hahaha, reminds me of myself when I went shopping with Peachy. Thank goodness it wasn't catching this time.
Found ourselves sitting at a table in Gloria Jeans later that evening with Nicco and Maje, then after a while, we were off to Food Choices so those two can get something to eat. Then we were off to Timezone because I was planning to give Guitar Freaks a shot for the first time, hahaha. I sucked, but thank goodness Nicco was the other player so the songs didn't end right away. Still wanna give it another try though, but man, that part of Timezone is always crowded because of all the real die-hard drummers and guitar addicts. After a bit of Bishi Bashi and some cam-whoring (with Bei and Maje courtesy of my phone, hahaha!), we finally called it a night.
(Technically) Yesterday, I went to see Ice Age 2 again, this time with Nicco, Bei, Mariko and Arumi. Hehehe, I still can't get over that "Peace out" and "My eyes on you" signs by Eddie and Crash.
By the time we got out of the cinemas to have dinner, most of the places are either closed or about to close. When we got to Food Choices, all the places I want to eat at were already closing, rawr. Oh well. Once again, after eating, back upstairs for a dose of Timezone. This time, Nicco didn't get to even touch Guitar Freaks, because there were already 2 guys at it, and their friend at the Percussion Freaks machine next to it as well. They kept taking turns at both games that no one else got the chance to play. Meanwhile, Mariko suddenly said that she wanted to play Dance Maniacs (yes, the same game machine I persuaded Rosa and myself to play when we watched the same movie), so I followed her and Arumi to play. Bei stayed put at Starbucks as Nicco watched the guitar-and-drum addicts who are still at it. Hahaha, I finally got the hang of the game, yay! Of course, that last song was a doozy. We couldn't even make it through halfway, hahaha.
It's pretty refreshing to hang out with a new group of people. I don't think I really have a lot in common with these girls, but thanks to Nicco, I got to see what they're like. Before then, I only knew Mariko as a girl from another org, and we have a bunch of mutual friends. We knew of each other, but never knew each other personally. Bei, Maje and Arumi were probably just random faces, but I never really knew they existed back when I was still in school. They were merely acquaintances when I got introduced to them. I never thought I'd see the day I'd be actually hanging out with them.
They amuse me. In a way, for me (or like me), they're pretty easy to get along with.
An outlet begins next week. I wonder if I'll make it.
