back to basics
Before anything else. I'd like to say this...
Even though they don't really enjoy my pursuing anything in theatre, their support every now and then still floors me.
Thanks, Mom and Dad.
Anyway, so tonight was the first day of Beginner's Acting workshop in Tanghalang Pilipino. Arrived at CCP 15 minutes before the class was about to start, and Nicco, Mervin and I still had to enroll. The two guys had left me to do all the asking, but it was actually easy to find the registration table. We ended up being half and hour late because we had to wait for the person in charge, then we had to fill out our forms plus pay and get the receipts.
We were told that the class was going to be held at the Silangan Hall on the 4th floor, so up we went. The class, facilitated by Ate Tess (well, that's what Nicco called her, so I got around to that as well) was already in session by the time the 3 of us arrived. After getting temporary name tags, we joined the group. Well, they were still introducing each other so we jumped in the name game. To Joseph people, are "Hyper Hogi" and "Naughty Nicco" still familiar to you? Hahahaha.
I like Ate Tess. She's was nice, confident and encouraging. I guess I made the right choice to get into this class. Hahaha, when I first introduced myself, I had said that I wanted to go "back to the basics," because I had immediately jumped into musical theater. Plus this is a good way to branch out.
This world keeps getting smaller every day. Tin, one of our classmates, noticed I was familiar, and then it just turned out that she knew Mimay, Peachy and Jamie Anne! And to my surprise, when the class ended, she had also called me "Ate Hogi," hahaha!
During one break, we had 10 minutes to do whatever. A bunch of us wanted to get something to drink. Water, to be specific. But the vending machine nearby didn't sell anything that's not carbonated, so we decided to check the buffeteria. No luck, it was closed. So our last choice was to go to the eating places at Star City. Run! Ended up buying water at Chowking. My golly, so we were late again, hahaha. But on our way back to the venue, Tin and I were walking ahead of the rest of the group and noticed that Agot Isidro was also walking in our direction, hahaha. She was talking on her phone then she lost its signal after a while, ehehehe.
I'd just like to quote what Ate Tess had said after our trust exercise earlier. "There's always a floor." So true. There's always something to break your fall.
