Entries for August, 2006

Oh my oh my.

I'm back online after two weeks. Ready for the update? Hahaha, I just had to ask. I don't want to torture you all, so let's just select some of the days that went by.

Friday, July 28

Because of the emergency text Tin got the previous week, her mom was in St. Claire hospital. So I met up with Mimay and Betty in the evening after hanging around with Nikki, then we went to the hospital together to see Tin.

Saturday, July 29

Shopping day with Peach! Hahaha, we kept going around Landmark searching for pants, tops and footwear, and she even looked through the kids' shoe section, hahaha. We hardly stopped the entire afternoon until evening except to eat, hahaha.

The week that followed was pretty uneventful, but sometime in the middle of it, I managed to meet with Rain and Mish after work. I haven't seen Rain in ages, so it was the perfect oppotunity to get together with him and Mish.

Saturday, August 5

I had to go to the office in the morning because Bobby was in town from Hong Kong and was celebrating her mom's birthday in advance. We were in the office because we had a cake being delivered, plus I had to pick up this special bread pudding that Bobby had ordered.

While I was waiting for the time before I had to pick up the bread pudding, I got a text from Tin, whose message said that her mom was brought back to the ICU after staying in a regular room for quite some time. Another message followed saying how scared she was that anything can happen at that point. Oh my oh my. Upon receiving that message, I faced the wall, closed my eyes and said a prayer.

I had a get-together that evening with Teena, Tita Sherbet, Jill and Peachy that would serve as Teena's despedida before she was to leave for the US in a couple of weeks, but I had nothing to do until then. Fortunately I was texting Peachy the evening before, and she got me to join her and her classmates for this film project they were shooting, that was to take place in a jeepney.

Off I went to Boni and met up with them at Don Bosco. Hahaha, Jav, one of the guys, couldn't quite get my name right, so he ended up calling me "Ate Howhow" the whole afternoon. I was given the option to be one of the actors, or just help out in general. I chose the latter, taking note of the order of how the actors will board and get off the jeep.

After wrapping up, Peach and I hopped on the MRT to meet with Teena, who was picking us up at the Shang. Then off we went to the Ilacads and picked up Jill and Tita Sherbs.

Dinner time at Kenny Rogers! Hahaha, our conversations were as crazy as we were, talking about certain local celebrities, and a little good-natured teasing that brought back a little of our past together. Who's his little princess again? HAHAHAHA! And even though we were stuffed, we still managed to make room for coffee at Starbucks ABS-CBN, where I even found Avril in the middle of a meeting, hehe. OUr conversation continued there with a little gossip, more teasing and of course, camwhoring, hahaha.

Man, I totally miss this crowd.

Sunday, August 6

While I was already on the MRT with Peach to Shang the day before, I received a text message from Betty, saying that Tin's mom had passed already. So a bunch of us decided to go to the wake that afternoon to keep Tin company. Met up with Betty and JP at Greenbelt, then we got a mass card at Landmark, where we waited for Michelle before we headed or the wake.

Instant goosebumps at the wake when Michelle had said that she could see a ghost. And not just any ghost, but Tin's mom. My oh my. Anyway, it was nice to see that we weren't the only ones who came that day. There was also Gem, Jenny and Jonna.

Wednesday, August 9

Met up again with Rain and Mish in Glorietta. Hung around Food Choices and Rain brought up more of his crazy stories. While we were still sitting around, Teena sent me a message that Nicco was at The Sound of Music auditions, so I got him to catch up with us.

We then walked to Greenbelt 2 for Jazz Night. Freestyle with Jinky Vidal was playing, coolness. And woohoo! Nicco got the current object of his affection to stop by for a while and meet us. So of course, being the crazy one, I told her that he had never stopped talking about her since the first day he saw her. *bonk* Tactless, hahaha.

After the Jazz night, we went upstairs for a regular dose of Timezone, hehehe. "Ms. Object of Affection" (name withheld due to Nicco's censorship) returned after having dinner with her friends, then after a while, we all had to head on home.

Thursday, August 10

This time I met up with Cris after work. Man, this is another friend that I haven't seen in ages. Heck, I think the last time I saw her was last year, during that very last day of filming Kopihaus # 8. Anyway, we caught up on each other's news while waiting for Mish at the food court, then we walked around to help Mish find a pair of black pants that she needed for a report in school.

Friday, August 11

Betty and I met up after I got out of the ofice to go back to the wake. Hahaha, from the moment we got into the jeep, she let out a little steam, and told me all about what's been eating her since last Sunday after we left the wake.

Tin wasn't around yet when we arrived at the funeral home, but she got there a little later after we did. Talked and ate, and yeah, I also did notice that Tin had a different aura after having talked to Michelle earlier in the week. Anyway, we got a little crazy and brought up these crazy lines, specially because of how I started telling them about this certain "happiness", then imitating all these familiar gestures, and of course, our new universal sign of closeness, HAHAHA.

Then the text messages from Michelle arrived, which made Betty and I bid goodbye to Tin and grab a cab to Michelle's condo. By the time we arrived at the lobby, her Cellphone was unreachable, and she wasn't answering her landline. Oh my. When we got to her door, she wasn't answering, and we were surprised to see that her door was unlocked. Betty went straight to her room as I hung back to close the door, and my oh my, I was alarmed by her tone as she called me into the room. Michelle, don't scare us like that again, hahaha. Anyway, her door was unlocked because her maid forgot to lock it on her way out. Then Michelle got to talking, and finally she had food delivered and finally settled down on the kitchen table until I had to go home.

So I guess that's it for now. Interesting how I ended the week with Betty's and my "Batman and Robin" episode, hahaha.

Oh yeah, there are quite a number of things disturbing me right now, but I'm not quite ready to write it here yet. Rawr, I'm being bothered by it, but I don't know how to let it out. Waaah.

Thank goodness I have today to bum around and forget about things temporarily, hehe.

Everyone has their secrets. Of course, I have my own. The only difference is that I have way more to hide than others share.

Two Fridays ago, when I was in a cab with Betty on the way to Michelle's condo, we were talking about the so-called "ilang factor" due to a certain friend. We were enumerating all our BA friends ang evaluated the degrees of that. And we didn't even mention each other. We got to talking more often, and at the same time we lost the little ilang we had for each other. We opened up and everything spilled out.

I guess the timing was right. There's this certain secret I had longed to share with someone aside from my best friends. Plus a friend who's almost the same age as Betty had left Manila a couple of days ago and I miss her already.

Thanks ever so much, Betty.

Last Tuesday I met up with Ed after work. He was visiting for a while from Canada and I missed seeing him the Saturday before. We had a good conversation going in Starbucks as we caught up on each other's lives. I missed that guy and I'm always grateful that he manages to visit all of us once a year.

On Saturday, I met up with Mish in Taft so she can return my digital camera that she borrowed. Talked for a while in House Blend and again in Starbucks until I had to go to EGI Tower to meet with Michelle and Betty. Found them at the lobby and we talked about the program for Michelle's birthday party this coming Friday night. Hahaha, one of the first things they asked was if I could help out at the event. Of course, I willingly accepted, hehe.

We hung around Michelle's condo for a while, and they showed me the letters that they had cut out from styrofoam and covered in glitters the night before. Then we went to Robinson's Place and went to Kink Cakes nearby so Michelle can order her birthday cake.

In the evening, I met up with Rosa and Aris in ATC so we can go together to Ramon's house to celebrate his birthday as well as passing the board exams. Whee! Anyway, we waited for Iam and Ge to arrive, then off we went to Ramon's. It was great to see the Hogi Hall gang again. Old and new stories and jokes were brought up, and I never found a "15-minute lull" (as JP called it) from this group.

Sunday, I met up with Betty at Harbour Square for lunch before we went to watch Orfeo sa Impiyerno at CCP's Little Theater. Talked until we barely had time to get our tickets and get inside the venue, hahaha.

One word for Betty and me about the play. "Pag-ibig." HAHAHAHA! Once we heard that one word uttered, we were giggling nonstop in our seats. Miss Tess and Wenah's characters were such a delight as well, from the very beginning until their last lines.

It was back to Pancake House for dinner later that evening with Michelle and Tin. We talked about Michelle's birthday a little more, complete with the program sequence and script. What got us really going and falling off our seats with laughter were familiar gestures and lines once again, hahaha. Oh yeah, thank you for the pretty pink pen, Tin!

Argh, because of all the things that are swimming in my head, I can't write a decent entry. Maybe next time. I'm out for now.
