losing the "ilang" factor, among other things
Everyone has their secrets. Of course, I have my own. The only difference is that I have way more to hide than others share.
Two Fridays ago, when I was in a cab with Betty on the way to Michelle's condo, we were talking about the so-called "ilang factor" due to a certain friend. We were enumerating all our BA friends ang evaluated the degrees of that. And we didn't even mention each other. We got to talking more often, and at the same time we lost the little ilang we had for each other. We opened up and everything spilled out.
I guess the timing was right. There's this certain secret I had longed to share with someone aside from my best friends. Plus a friend who's almost the same age as Betty had left Manila a couple of days ago and I miss her already.
Thanks ever so much, Betty.
Last Tuesday I met up with Ed after work. He was visiting for a while from Canada and I missed seeing him the Saturday before. We had a good conversation going in Starbucks as we caught up on each other's lives. I missed that guy and I'm always grateful that he manages to visit all of us once a year.
On Saturday, I met up with Mish in Taft so she can return my digital camera that she borrowed. Talked for a while in House Blend and again in Starbucks until I had to go to EGI Tower to meet with Michelle and Betty. Found them at the lobby and we talked about the program for Michelle's birthday party this coming Friday night. Hahaha, one of the first things they asked was if I could help out at the event. Of course, I willingly accepted, hehe.
We hung around Michelle's condo for a while, and they showed me the letters that they had cut out from styrofoam and covered in glitters the night before. Then we went to Robinson's Place and went to Kink Cakes nearby so Michelle can order her birthday cake.
In the evening, I met up with Rosa and Aris in ATC so we can go together to Ramon's house to celebrate his birthday as well as passing the board exams. Whee! Anyway, we waited for Iam and Ge to arrive, then off we went to Ramon's. It was great to see the Hogi Hall gang again. Old and new stories and jokes were brought up, and I never found a "15-minute lull" (as JP called it) from this group.
Sunday, I met up with Betty at Harbour Square for lunch before we went to watch Orfeo sa Impiyerno at CCP's Little Theater. Talked until we barely had time to get our tickets and get inside the venue, hahaha.
One word for Betty and me about the play. "Pag-ibig." HAHAHAHA! Once we heard that one word uttered, we were giggling nonstop in our seats. Miss Tess and Wenah's characters were such a delight as well, from the very beginning until their last lines.
It was back to Pancake House for dinner later that evening with Michelle and Tin. We talked about Michelle's birthday a little more, complete with the program sequence and script. What got us really going and falling off our seats with laughter were familiar gestures and lines once again, hahaha. Oh yeah, thank you for the pretty pink pen, Tin!
Argh, because of all the things that are swimming in my head, I can't write a decent entry. Maybe next time. I'm out for now.
